On 16th-17th October, Scandinavian Heartland organisation is celebrating 10 years of successful cross-border collaboration, and has invited actors from across the region to share their journeys.
Mari Wøien, Junior Research Fellow at Nordregio, is invited to give a speech on the status, challenges and opportunities in the border region. She will discuss how to use best practice-cases from other border regions in the Nordic Region and illustrate different ways of working with cross-border topics. Some of the topics from the State of the Nordic Region and the Nordic Thematic Group for Innovative and Resilient Regions will be touched upon too.
The Scandinavian Heartland is primarily a collaboration between ‘Fjellregionen’ (the mountain region) in Norway and Dalarna in Sweden, but the project also includes Akershus and Østfold on the Norwegian side, and Västra Götaland, Värmland, Jämtland and Västernorrland in Sweden.
