Head of Statistics
I am the Head of Statisitcs at Nordregio. I lead several projects related to the production and dissemination of comparable statistics on the Nordic countries, including the Nordic Statistics Database and the Nomesco-Nososco secretariat.
I am a demographer with over 20 years of experience in the production of socio-economic analyses and management of research projects in Sweden, the United States and Brazil.
I started my professional career in 2002 as a research assistant in demography and economics at the Center for Regional Development and Planning in Brazil. After getting a master’s degree in Demography at the same institute, I moved to Philadelphia in 2007 to pursue a doctoral degree in Demography and Sociology. At the University of Pennsylvania, I also worked as graduate research assistant and course instructor.
I moved to Stockholm in 2014 after concluding my PhD. Before working at Nordregio, I have worked as a Research Fellow at the Stockholm University Demography Unit, as a demographer at Statistics Sweden and served as chair of the Swedish Demographic Association. I have published work in the areas of regional and social statistics, migration, integration, labour market, population projections, and birth rates.
