I was born and raised in Helsinki but now live full-time in Stockholm (for the second time). When I first moved from Helsinki to Stockholm, I had a feeling that this could be a city I wouldn’t want to leave for a while. Still, after completing my undergraduate studies at Stockholm University, I decided to move back to my familiar hometown of Helsinki to pursue my master’s degree. However, the love and sense of belonging I felt for vibrant Stockholm didn’t fade when I moved back to Helsinki, and I longed to return.
When I moved back, I used the Info Norden website to find all the necessary information about how I could live permanently or temporarily in Stockholm – or easily commute between Helsinki and Stockholm. At that time, I couldn’t have imagined that I would later work as a Project Officer in Stockholm for this very information service and handle issues that I, as a former commuter between the Nordic countries, had personally encountered.
