Map Facts
This map shows demographic potential across the Nordic Region at the regional level. Demographic Potential is one of the three potentials that make up Nordregio’s Regional Potential Index and includes four indicators: population density, net migration rate, demography dependency rate and female ratio. Regions with higher demographic potential scores are more likely to experience balanced population growth in the future. The map highlights the strong demographic potential of capital city regions and the weak potential of more peripheral regions.
