Economic output per capita in the Nordics is heavily concentrated in a handful of hubs. Oslo leads by a wide margin at roughly €102,700 per capita, reflecting Norway’s oil- and energy-driven economy, followed by Hovedstaden (Copenhagen), Iceland as a whole, and Stockholm — all well above €75,000. The Faroe Islands also rank among the highest, punching well above their size thanks to the fisheries sector. At the other end, per-capita output is lowest across Finland’s more peripheral regions, such as Päijät-Häme, Pohjois-Karjala and Etelä-Karjala, and in Södermanland in Sweden, all clustering just below €38,000 — less than half the level seen in Oslo.
