Across Nordic and Baltic regions
4 November, 2016
This map shows demographic vulnerability in Nordic-Baltic regions based on the indicator net migration. All regions in the Baltic countries are experiencing negative net migration rates, with the exception of the capital region in Estonia. Most regions in Finland also witnessed out-migration. At the same time, the most positive net migration rate can be observed within other three Nordic countries shown on the map, primarily in the capital areas and the more dynamic, growing city-regions.
Net migration is one of 10 indicators used to measure demographic vulnerability in the Nordic-Baltic Region. The map “Nordic-Baltic Demographic Vulnerabilities”, takes in all 10 indicators to provide an overall picture of demographic vulnerabilities at the regional level.
