Spatial Story
I grew up in Linné in central Gothenburg. Thinking back today, I consider the neighbourhood to be my childhood home. With divorced parents I quickly added up a few addresses by young age, and moving back-and-forth every week contributed to the neighbourhood feeling just as much as home as the apartment I was living in.
I went to music high school, and after graduating I moved to Ingesunds Folkhögskola to study sound engineering for a year. There, I lived at a boarding school a few kilometres outside Arvika. I pursued my music interest for a while, but unfortunately it slowly wore off, perhaps because me and my friends never really became world touring rock stars. I spent some time in India and California before moving to Lund to try out university studies.
Urban development and maps have always interested me – I remember drawing maps of new Pokémon cities with my cousin when we were kids – so urban planning felt like a decent choice. I enjoyed studying in Lund but moved to Malmö after two years, longing for more city-life. After graduating from Lund University, I hopped on a masters programme in urban studies at Malmö University. I studied at Politecnico di Milano for a semester before writing my thesis with a municipal housing company based in Gothenburg. During my last months at Malmö University, I assisted in teaching GIS at my programme, which helped me get a teaching job at Stockholm University after graduating. I moved here with my partner who grew up in Stockholm. I have lived in Sweden’s three biggest cities but have not yet decided on my favourite.
