Across the Nordic-Baltic region, 5G-enabled solutions are advancing rapidly. Yet many remain localised, limiting their potential to create broader regional impact. This online workshop brought together policy, research and industry experts to exchange experiences, showcase innovative examples and explore how digital connectivity can support smarter and more connected societies across the region.
Date: Monday 8 June 2026
Time: 13:00–14:30 CEST
Platform: Teams
The session featured keynote speaker Jóna Olsen from the Faroe Islands’ telecom provider NET, who shared practical insights on how telecom providers and a shared network model support high-quality connectivity across the sparsely populated islands.
Participants also explored the Nordic-Baltic Connectivity Hub, a tool that maps 5G+ coverage and activities across the region. Through an interactive demo and breakout discussions, participants tested the tool’s collaboration and coverage features and contributed perspectives on how data and networks can support regional innovation.
