First aid kit to share the care: Recommendations to Increase Diversity in Nursing Education

Gender disparity in the Nordic healthcare sector has significant social, cultural, and economic implications in societies that prioritise equality. Despite their progressive stance, Nordic countries continue to grapple with the persistent overrepresentation of women in healthcare, reflecting a broader gender division. This policy brief is based on the “Share the Care” project findings on gender segregation in healthcare, particularly in nursing. It provides key recommendations to increase diversity in nursing education. They can be implemented at different administrative levels, starting with the faculty level at the university and then moving on to the regional and national levels.
