Nordic-Baltic Demographic Vulnerability 2015 indicated by net migration
Map Facts
This map shows demographic vulnerability in Nordic-Baltic municipalities based on the indicator net migration. The majority of the municipalities in both Nordic and Baltic countries are experiencing negative net migration rate, with significant outmigration in the Baltic countries. At the same time, positive net migration rates can be observed for particular municipalities within the countries, primarily in the capital areas and the more dynamic, growing city-regions.
Net migration is one of 10 indicators used to measure demographic vulnerability in the Nordic-Baltic Region. The map “Nordic-Baltic Demographic Vulnerabilities”, takes in all 10 indicators to provide an overall picture of demographic vulnerabilities at the municipal level.
