Nordregio researchers Nelli Mikkola and Jukka Teräs will present two research papers on regional economic resilience. The conference is held by the Association of American Geographers.
There has been a growing interest in the concept of economic resilience in recent years. Both academics and policy makers are searching for the ways how to unpack the causes and effects of uneven development of regional economies. Nordregio researchers Nelli Mikkola and Jukka Teräs will approach this topic by focusing on transition to green economy and case study of Oulu – the most populous city in Northern Finland.
The AAG Annual Meeting gathers fellow geographers, GIS specialists, environmental scientists, and other leaders for the latest in research and applications in geography, sustainability, and GIS science. The meeting is held from April 5-9, 2017, and features over 6,900 presentations, posters, workshops, and field trips by leading scholars, experts, and researchers.
