A new Nordic network for sustainable development will exchange knowledge and provide Nordic insights of working with sustainability and views for the post 2030 Agenda. The network is part of a Nordregio research project that aims to strengthen sustainability work in the Nordic Region.
Time is ticking to reach the sustainability goals in Agenda 2030. If we are serious about making progress towards the goals the work needs to speed up. We hope the results from this research project can strengthen sustainability efforts across national, regional, and local levels in the Nordic countries, says Kerstin Bly Joyce, researcher at Nordregio.
The network will consist of Nordic civil servants who will exchange knowledge, share insights, shape policy recommendations and contribute to framing new relevant research about sustainable development.
To ensure relevance to all governance levels, the project will involve actors across national, regional, and local levels. Nordregio will engage with former members of the Nordic Council of Minister’s expert group on sustainable development and strengthen the existing Nordic network of local and regional government associations. Broader stakeholder groups will also be involved.
The research project runs from 2026 to late 2027.
