State of the Nordic Region paints a picture of how our regions and municipalities are changing – who lives here, where people work, and how local economies are developing. Tune in for the online launch of the 2026 edition of Nordregio’s flagship report on 25 March!
State of the Nordic Region offers an overview of regional development trends across the Nordics. It highlights developments across three broad themes: demography, labour market, and economy. The report combines statistics, maps, and analysis. It sheds light on shared challenges, opportunities, similarities and differences across the Nordic countries, regions, municipalities, and cities.
The 2026 edition takes stock of how demographic change, population ageing, migration, labour market dynamics, and structural economic changes are reshaping the Nordic Region. It also examines how regions respond to external pressures such as geopolitical uncertainty, growing demands on critical infrastructure, and the accelerating green transition.
At the webinar, our researchers will share the key insights and highlights from the report.
