Vágur: Improving attractiveness through a change of image

Vágur is the only place on the Faroes island where the population grew between 2013 in 2018 and was higher than the average for the Faroe Islands as a whole. But before this period, Vágur faced a lot of challenges: declining population, bad reputation, lack of jobs.

The way towards better times was not easy. But municipality managed to solve many of problems and now is counting a positive change of migration and population, inclusive approaches to (re)building a sense of community, and the stimulation of new economic activity.
